Why Do All Dresses With Sleeves Look Like A sequin Machine Puked On Them?
So finally got this blog installed (Thanks Menachem, though in the end it was me who got it to work) and as you can probably tell it is dedicated to a problem I believe many of us have with the fashion industry.
You see, I’m not 83 years old I don’t want to look like I just accidentally visited the 80s AND I AM NOT THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE… still I do not wear sleeveless clothes.
I guess this would be a good time to introduce myself, I’m 29 years old have a decent figure and firmly believe that looking your best very often means knowing what you should hide as well as what you should emphasize.
My problem starts when I want to buy something to wear, particularly for a special occasion. Personally I think you cant beat a dress. And so it begins…
I Look around online and start the following process.
Step 1 – Find a gorgeous cocktail dress/gown
Step 2 – Realize that it doesn’t have sleeves (usually doesn’t take that long to figure it out)
Step 3 – Start thinking of “cover up” options, will it look good with a shawl over (it wont), what about a tight shirt underneath (some things were not meant to have a black shirt underneath, in fact most dresses weren’t)
Step 4 – Remind myself that there is nothing as elegant as a dress with no rubbish supplementing it.
Step 5- Make peace with the fact that I will not be getting that dress
Step 6 – Start looking for a dress with sleeves
Step 7 – Realize that the ONLY place to find that kind of stuff is in th “mother of the bride” category
Step 8 – Think about it, come to the conclusion that the only way I could be the mother of a bride would be if I had had a child at the age of 12
Step 9 – Rack my brain but cant for the life of me remember having a child at that age (or at any age for that matter)
Step 10 – Give up and start a blog
But I must admit, It ISN’T impossible to find a nice dress with sleeves online. Only thing is the websites don’t help you cant search a website for a dress with sleeves, you have to do it manually.
Thats were I come in, I’m gonna go through different websites and send you to what I think are nice (non frumpy) dresses.
I would love any input about the different dresses or even better, links to dresses you liked.
